Milia

Milia
Meet Milia Hachem, a 6 year-old brave and sweet young girl. Milia was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of 1 month and 4 days. Her parents were so concerned because her abdomen was enlarged more than normal and she wasn’t feeding properly.
Neuroblastoma is a cancerous tumor that begins in nerve tissue of infants and very young children. Neuroblastoma is the most common type of tumor in infants under 1 year of age. The survivor rate is greater than 90% for most cases.
Within her first year of life, Milia underwent surgery and multiple chemotherapy rounds. This period was so challenging and full of anxiety, as any parent of a child with cancer can tell you.
Thankfully, due to timely diagnosis and treatment, Milia recovered her health and has grown up to be like any young girl her age. She’s passed her 5-year survivorship, a key anniversary for cancer survivors.
Milia loves unicorns and the color pink. She’s an amazing girl and our hearts swell with love and joy for her. We love you and we are keeping you and your family in our hearts and prayers.
