CHANCE (Children Against Cancer) Association commemorated the International Childhood Cancer Day that falls on February 15TH of each year. ICCD is a global collaborative campaign to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to express support for children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors and their families.
In view of the dramatic situation that the people with cancer are living in Lebanon on a daily basis, CHANCE association wanted to raise the voice about the necessity of early detection of the cancer which will have a tremendous effect on the recovery of the children while highlighting the right of access to care and safe medications.
On this occasion, a group of CHANCE Association’s children, along with their parents, CHANCE committee members and volunteers, departed from LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital to the Ministry of Information in order to meet the minister H.E. Mr. Ziad Makari to highlight in the media the importance of early detection and quick access to treatment in this severe economic and financial crisis. A tour on the double-deck bus graciously offered by City Sightseeing Lebanon in different parts of the capital followed by lunch sponsored by McDonald’s Lebanon.
Dr Roula Farah, CHANCE Association Founder and President stated: “We come on this 15th of February to pay a tribute to the four components of this Fight for Life: The children for their courage, their families who are suffering with them, the CHANCE volunteers struggling to find funds and medications, as well as the medical teams in their struggle for life. Medical teams are there, every single day, unstoppable, doing the best they can to relieve pain and suffering from our little heroes. They, as well, deserve to be remembered on this special day. “
The children with cancer in Lebanon are now in a critical situation, let us pay tribute to their fight for life on this special day.
